Bali Luxury Cruise FAQ | Velamar Cruises

Bali Luxury Cruise FAQ

**A Bali luxury cruise is a per-person, fixed-departure experience from Benoa Harbour: white-tablecloth sunset dinner sailings and multi-day small-ship voyages toward the Nusa islands and eastbound. You book a seat or cabin, not the whole boat. Below are direct answers to the questions guests ask most, as of 2026.**

Velamar Cruises is operated by Bali Premium Trip. Where we do not own the vessel, experiences are arranged through vetted licensed partners. Prices and figures below are date-stamped and subject to change.

How much does a Bali luxury cruise cost per person?

Sunset dinner cruises sit in an indicative band; exact 2026 seat prices vary by vessel and season and are best confirmed live. Multi-day fares are firmer: a scheduled Benoa ocean cruise on 20 November 2026 was published “from $2,779 per person, taxes & fees included,” and Oceania advertised 2027 Bali voyages from roughly USD 3,960 per guest. See our [dinner cruise](/sunset-dinner-cruise/) and [multi-day](/multi-day-cruises/) pages.

Is pricing per person or per cabin?

Both, depending on the product. Sunset and day cruises are sold per person on scheduled departures, with individual ticket prices rather than charter rates. Multi-day voyages are priced per person but calculated on double-occupancy cabins, so the headline fare assumes two guests sharing a suite, balcony or oceanview category. Solo travellers may pay a single supplement. Our [pricing guide](/prices/) breaks this down.

What is included in the cruise fare?

It depends on cabin category and product. Per-person price is driven by cabin category, inclusions such as drinks, excursions and guides, and season. On day cruises to Nusa Lembongan, the boat moors at an exclusive pontoon and guests access snorkelling, glass-bottom boat rides and water sports. National and marine-park fees may be charged separately. Confirm inclusions on our [inclusions page](/whats-included/).

Are taxes and port fees extra?

For multi-day voyages, some published fares state “taxes & fees included,” as the 20 November 2026 Benoa departure did at $2,779 per person. But national and marine-park fees, for example Komodo park fees on eastbound routes, may be charged separately from the fare. Always read what each fare covers before booking. Our [pricing guide](/prices/) flags which fees are typically separate.

How does booking work?

Booking is handled directly by the Bali Premium Trip reservations team. You choose a scheduled departure and cabin or seat category, we confirm live availability and total price with any separate fees, you pay to hold the booking, then receive your confirmation and boarding details. There is no charter negotiation for per-seat products. Start on our [booking page](/booking/) or message the concierge.

When should I arrive at Benoa Harbour?

Arrive early. A luxury day cruise departs Benoa Harbour at 9:15 AM and sails to Nusa Lembongan, so plan to reach the terminal ahead of that to clear check-in without rushing. Benoa Harbour is Bali’s busiest passenger port, on the Bukit Peninsula north of Nusa Dua, and holds the Benoa Cruise International Terminal. Your confirmation lists the exact meeting time. See our [Benoa Harbour guide](/benoa-harbour/).

Is hotel pickup available, and how do I reach the port?

Benoa Harbour is a short drive from Sanur, Kuta, Legian, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran and Denpasar, and reachable from Uluwatu Temple. From Ngurah Rai International Airport, ride-hailing apps Grab or Gojek reach Benoa Port cheaply and easily. Ask the reservations team about arranging transfers when you book. Directions and nearby sights are on our [Benoa Harbour guide](/benoa-harbour/).

What documents do I need?

For day and sunset cruises you generally need photo ID and your booking confirmation. For multi-day voyages, especially international turnarounds using Benoa as a call or turnaround, carry a valid passport and any visas required for your itinerary. Because rules evolve, confirm document requirements with the reservations team closer to your sailing date. Our [booking page](/booking/) covers what to bring.

Do I need a visa for island-hopping to Nusa Lembongan?

Day cruises to Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan stay within Indonesian waters and return to Bali on the same boat, so they do not involve a border crossing. Your entry visa for Indonesia is what applies. For eastbound multi-day itineraries toward Komodo and Flores, requirements can differ; treat visa topics as evolving and confirm closer to travel.

What are marine-park fees and who pays them?

Marine-park and national fees, such as Komodo park fees on eastbound small-ship routes, are official charges that may be billed separately from your cruise fare rather than bundled in. They fund the protected areas you visit. Amounts change, so we confirm the current figure at booking rather than quoting a fixed number. Day cruises to the Nusa islands typically involve fewer such fees. See our [multi-day page](/multi-day-cruises/).

Is there a dress code?

Velamar sits at the white-tablecloth end, away from the party-boat tier, so smart-casual is a safe baseline for sunset dinner cruises: think resort-evening rather than beachwear. Day cruises are relaxed, with swimwear, a cover-up, sun protection and a light layer for the return sail. Multi-day voyages may suggest smarter attire for certain dinners. Details sit on our [sunset dinner cruise page](/sunset-dinner-cruise/).

Are cruises suitable for children and guests with accessibility needs?

Suitability varies by vessel and route, so tell us your group’s ages and needs when you enquire. Some day cruises with pontoon access and water sports suit families; certain multi-day small ships have limited cabin and access configurations. Because we arrange via vetted partners, we confirm each vessel’s specific facilities before you commit. Ask the concierge on our [booking page](/booking/).

What about motion sickness?

Comfort depends on route and conditions. Sheltered day sailings to Nusa Lembongan are generally calmer than open-water eastbound legs. At Benoa Harbour the vast majority of cruises take place in the dry season, when seas tend to be steadier. If you are sensitive, choose a shorter Nusa-islands day cruise, sit mid-ship, and bring your usual remedy. Compare routes on our [day cruises page](/day-cruises/).

When is the best time to cruise from Bali?

The dry season. At Benoa Harbour the vast majority of cruises take place in the dry season, which climate references generally place from April to September. Port-related visitor services are listed as operating daily. For 2027, luxury lines including Regent, Oceania, Viking, PONANT and Celebrity already feature Benoa into 2027-2028, so booking ahead for peak dry-season dates is wise. See our [pricing guide](/prices/).
